Removed from the cesspit of Eden, with nightmares behind him, and a beautiful woman on his arm who enjoyed his company and that he could make smile with simply a word, touch or a glance, Kyle felt as if he inhabited a dream. One that he never wanted to wake from. Azairah D'Amici desired to be with him; Kyle Evans, the emotionally detached, damaged murderer, whose motto for the last few years had been, Trust no-one, care for no-one, get close to no-one, allow no-one to get close, and you can't be hurt; and appreciated what he could offer. That helped prove to Kyle that, after Amy, and all else that occurred, he did, indeed, have something to offer, and in turn, was worthy of Azairah's companionship, not just of being forever alone. He trusted her completely, and that her reactions and words were sincere, and together, they occupied a world of their own. A world that would never be comprehended by the rest of society, but one that, together, they'd see through to its end.

All the man could do was stand and watch as three more ended up in the side pockets, before Kyle missed a shot. However, after potting one of his own, the biker didn't receive another opportunity, and the game was over in five minutes. As were the next two, and as he played, Kyle deliberately motioned each time in secret to Zai where he expected the next ball to go, getting it right more often than wrong. However, despite the easy wins, and the wiping of smugness from their demeanour, his opponents displayed no signs of anger or annoyance. It was difficult for them not to respect Kyle for the friendly banter he'd maintained throughout the games, and the easy confidence he'd displayed with two men who outweighed him by a combined five hundred pounds, and could squash him like a bug in an instant.
