Kurt Vonnegut's Analysis

Kurt Vonnegut once articulated, “True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country." I looked around and thought if my classmates are the future leaders of all hope is lost. I whole heartily agree with aforementioned quote. Inspired by Kurt Vonnegut’s perspective, I ventured into the profession of teaching and I put forth my quasi-hippie ideals to transform the world. Reflecting on the past few years, I concur that I proud to declare I a small part in improving. Notwithstanding, the struggle to guide and instruct every student is the crux of my existence. Countless times parents disclosed in conferences they desire their child to gain knowledge to obtain an exceptional job. This process helps students convey feelings they would not have otherwise shared. In addition, this gives me insight into my teaching abilities. I use their words to help craft creative, inventive, and challenging lessons. My students frequently disclose I plan too much for one period. With their feedback, I focused on developing my lesson to be more linear rather than horizontal. I dedicate hours participating in professional developments on higher-level questions and discussion techniques to improve my teaching skills.
