The change theory has been developed by Kurt Lewin. It contains three major concepts, namely driving and restraining forces, as well as equilibrium. Thus, the theory may be effectively used in nursing (Morrison, 2014).
The major point in nursing is equal treatment to patients and desire to help. Sometimes it happens that caretaking personnel treat patients differently owing to nationality, race, personal reasons, level of income, etc. That is why it is important to monitor that way of behavior of such personnel. According to Lewin’s theory, there should be applied a moving force, for instance a group of people which would monitor the way of behavior of nurses and doctors relating to one or another patient.
