Imagine associating with a society where family, neighbors, and friends are murdered plainly because of the pigment that their skin has. What was the transgression? They were alive. That is what life was like for many people whom existed in the southern region for a tremendous amount of America’s history; the racism in the south only grew when a group of white supremacist began to show extreme racism towards African Americans and Jews. They called themselves the Ku Klux Klan otherwise known as the KKK. For instance on June 21 1964 three civil rights workers named Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman, and James Chaney were killed by a Ku Klux Klan near Meridian, Mississippi. These men were pulled over by deputy sheriff Cecil Price whom was also a part of the notorious Klan.
