Krystal's Coins Game Analysis

Decent Essays
Setting this activity for Krystal is really difficult. Her attention span is limited, for example, she can pay you attention but only few seconds, she tries to look at you but in seconds she turns her head to another thing or distractor. It is difficult for her paying attention to details but practicing this skill I think we can do a lot. We were practicing with her staying on task when she was reviewing her identifying’s coins lesson. For her this activity was fun and at the same time illustrative. She was looking at the piece of paper with the different coins and one dollar bill and the professor was explaining her the lesson. This activity is interesting because she is learning the value of the coins while she is practicing staying on task.

In the video, Ms. Ogier discusses and exemplifies how she manages a classroom of 31 students as they partake in guided reading. That being said, strategies apparent in the video are consistent with Jack Kounin’s model of discipline. Kounin found that good discipline was more contingent on how effective teachers presented their lesson plans, rather than what they did to correct misbehavior after it occurred. Furthermore, he came up with five behavioral techniques that are imperative to preventing misbehavior and facilitating successful classroom management.…
