Card "Tricks"-Kruskal's Count A deck of cards can have multiple applications, for when you are bored you can pick up a deck of cards and play classic card games such as president or something as simple as gold fish. However, a playing cards can be used to amaze your audience with a card trick that supposedly reads their mind by guessing which card they had in their hand. Some card tricks are performed by visual manipulation whereas some actually involve a mathematical relationship. Kruskal's count (named after Martin kruskal who discovered the trick) is a card trick that is based solely off of its high percentage of success compared to other tricks that involve the use of sleight of hand.

The Trick The victim is free to shuffle a full deck of 52 cards in any order they will like. They are later asked to choose a number between 1-10 and also to count along as the cards are being displayed. The card in the position chosen by the victim becomes his/her first chosen card and the number on that card becomes the position of their second chosen card and they are expected to repeat the process till the point they are out of cards. In this situation, aces are worth 1 and the faces cards are worth 5. With the totally unsystematic path through the thoroughly shuffled cards the magician is able to predict the last chosen card by the victim. …show more content…
Considering the fact the magician probably didn't choose the same number as the victim, there is a high probability they would land on same final card. When both the path of the victim and the magician there is going to be one point where there path collides, by coincidence and from that point on the path would be the same leading to the same final
