Kristina's Three Siblings-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
There were four of them. The oldest was Matt. He was eighteen and going into college at the state university. The next oldest was Alyssa. She was a pretty young lady who had just turned fifteen. Samuel was the baby of the family, at six years old. He was sweet and kind to everyone. Kristina was thirteen years old and a genius. Some of her accomplishments she prided herself on were: taking three college level courses, skipping 3rd through 9th grade, and loving her siblings, no matter how annoying they could be. Her favorite sibling was Matt, though she’d never admit it. Seeing as he was leaving to college, Kristina’s one friend would soon be gone.

The goal of this document is the analytical breakdown of Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston’s book titled Farewell to Manzanar. The book is a recollection of her time at an internment camp called ‘Manzanar’ when she was a child along with a few excerpts to give depth to some of the events that took place. As noted in the p.s before the book begins, she and her husband decided to write the story of what life was like in the internment camps and not focussing on the overall scheme of how “an injustice was done.” (Wakatsuki Houston, Foreward) since many were already in agreement on that matter and the topic considered old and tired. The focus of this paper will be on how the events affected her childhood, broke her family, emphasized her ethnicity, and…

This paper will examine a family assessment that I conducted with a family and will include a completed genogram (see Appendix A) and ecomap (see Appendix B).…
