From a very young age Ward had an interest for design and organization. Her dad would sometimes give her graph paper for her to draw the layout of her “dream house”. In her hometown, she had a very inspirational architect by the name of Frank Lloyd Wright and he had much of a say in the design of her local buildings. Her thoughts on him were simply stating, “I like the way his buildings interacted with nature, it's just so beautiful.” From this point a spark in her imagination led her to where she is today. …show more content…
It was in these classes that she finally felt “smart” and “at home”. Her love for these classes came directly from her enjoyment of shape interactions and combining things to make a better whole. She explains, “I always liked making space and putting things into that space, to then watch it all blend together.”
In school her main aspirations and goals were to get into graduate school, pass her thesis presentation, and find something that she loved to do. At the time before graduate school she didn't think she would make it there stating, “Honestly I just wanted to get through school, I never thought I would take it this far.” Not everything she did in school she is proud, she had a motto of “fake it till you make it” which she strongly looks down upon now. “I settled for a B when i could have made an A” she explains, “I'm just glad I turned it around in grad
