Kristaps Porzingis will still be a Knick, for now. The New York Knicks picked up the 2018-2019 team option on the 22-year old power forward/center from Latvia. But words are now spreading that he was almost traded by former Knicks president Phil Jackson for the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA draft in order to get point guard Lonzo Ball.

The Knicks selected Kristaps Porzingis as their fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. Many basketball enthusiasts were in disbelief and even disagree with the Knicks choice. And just when Porzingis is about to be one building block for the Knicks future, several trade rumors have swirled around him.

Kristaps Porzingis trade scenarios
After a disappointing performance for the Knicks last season, speculations started to link Porzingis to numerous trade deals. Reports are saying that Phil Jackson allegedly is the perpetrator of shopping him to other teams. Previous reports linked Porzingis to the Cleveland Cavaliers as a potential destination. There is also news that the Knicks proposed a Kristaps Porzingis-Devin Booker direct swap.

But as the Knicks management and Phil Jackson decided to part ways last June, trade rumors to Kristaps Porzingis also started to diminish. However, latest accounts are saying that Jackson nearly traded the Latvian sensation to get the first overall pick in the last NBA

Throughout the last several years, the emergence of the point guard position in the NBA has been evident. The traditional "pass first" PG is slowly becoming more absent throughout the league. Point guards are rapidly improving from year to year and the position is very much as competitive as it has ever been in NBA history. Point guards are taking on more responsibility such as scoring the ball efficiently and more often, setting teammates up to score and defending at a high level. These guards are becoming more athletic which is essentially expanding their abilities to dominate.…

Shooting guards are the most difficult players for me to project in fantasy basketball. It’s so hard during the preseason to get a firm grasp on who will be starting and who’s minutes may see a decrease this season. I do in fact have some great sleeper options, though. From Monta Ellis to Zach LaVine, there are are plethora of talented guys to anchor your fantasy rosters this season.…

For example, The Houston Rockets, instead of getting a new player that can make a big difference after Dwight Howard left the Rockets to go to the Atlanta Hawks with a 70.5 million dollar deal, they decided to extend James Harden's ( Rockets Shooting Guard) contract to a 4 year $118 million dollars which in my opinion is one of the worst deals the Rockets could have done to make their team better. The Rockets GM should have gone to seek another star center to replace Dwight but it's too late for that now. There has been another surprising deal, one with the Chicago Bulls. The Chicago Bulls have recently signed with all-star Dwyane Wade for a 2 year $48 million dollar contract. Dwyane Wade who is a from Chicago spent his entire 13 year career with the Miami Heat, obviously picking a few championships along the way while often describing himself as a “heat lifer”.…
