Kristallnacht or ¨The night of broken glass¨ was what we would nowadays we call it a ¨riot¨. But, unlike today it wasn't as peaceful. The whole thing was vandalism and carnage that had an excruciating cost. In these three paragraphs that have been presented have loathing; casualties; and suffering.
The caused this influx of loathing between both sides was. There was already accumulated tension between the two sides to start with because the Germans were blaming the result of the war on the Jewish as well as the Jewish loathed the Nazis for taking and disrespecting them.Then, Herschel Grynszpan killed the third secretary of the German embassy. out of rage, because the Germans took away his family to work in camps. There was a lot of damage, for instance. According to History Channel a message that was sent to Hermann Goering reads ¨¨…815 shops destroyed, 171 dwelling houses set on fire or destroyed… 119 synagogues were set on fire, and another 76 completely destroyed… 20,000 Jews were arrested, 36 deaths were reported and those seriously injured were also numbered at 36…¨¨ (History 6) the number of stores that were looted was around 7,000 (History 3). Broke windows of both stores and Jewish dwellings as well as other forms of Jewish property. the Jews were looted from everything from schools to dwelling and even cemeteries will the police could only sit and watch as the Germans were massacred there, jewish neighbors and friends. Well, there were seven instances of rape to the jews from the Germans, every German who did so was arrested (History 3). Jewish businesses needed ¨Jewed¨ lettered on their businesses window. They slowly lost income until they didn't get barely any to live. And sighs where posted that wrote ¨no Jews welcome¨. The Jews were excluded from as the United States Holocaust Museum puts it ¨ barred from entering museums, public playgrounds, and swimming pools, now they were expelled from the public schools. Jewish youngsters, like their parents, were totally segregated in Germany¨ (Holocaust Museum 1).
Kristallnacht was one thing that humanity should never even attempt again. Destroying others property was even illegal back then and is still is to this day especially at the cost of nowadays billions of dollars. People should never put that much burden on anyone ever again. Kristallnacht was a night where people did destructive and terrible things. From the cause to the amount of casualties and what happened after. The amount of shops destroyed was a great deal as well as the houses and other properties that we should never hope that something like this will happen
