The principal members of the Kreisau Circle were Helmuth James Graf von Moltke and Peter Graf Yorck von Wartenburg. Aristocratic families and thus very well off educated. Other members of the Kreisau circle were people from various political, social and religious groups who were united in their opposition to the Nazi Government.
The Kreisau circle’s main belief Hitler = catastrophe for the nation they stood by the idea that Nazism would inevitably end and therefore main objective to come up with policies to re introduce a democracy into the country new design that would successfully run the country. Peacetime govt and design mechanisms that could have prevented both world wars. NB their aim not to overthrow that would happen naturally.
The members of the Kreisau Circle recognized that the prejudice and discrimination that took place under Hitler’s dictatorship was “not only the devastation of the cities but also the horrific destruction in the minds and hearts of the people” (Moltke).

The July Bomb Plot of 1944 was an attempt by senior army officers to assassinate Hitler that was planned over many months. There were many principal figures in the July Plot, two of which were Moltke and von Watenburg. However the key figure was Claus von Stauffenbergg who was the Chief of staff army reserve and had regular contact with Hitler. Within this group there was only one person against the use of violence in assisinating Hitler and that was Moltke from the Kreisau
