On the day of the event, I made sure everyone was helping and that everyone felt like they were helpful for the cause. I also demonstrate leadership qualities in Girl Scouts. Through Girl Scouts, I have volunteered at day camp. At camp, I helped lead girls in activities and make sure that they were comfortable. I also demonstrated teamwork by working with all of the other volunteers to make sure that the camp was a success.…
In the story, Panyee Soccer Club these boys got made fun of and lost a big tournament, but pushed through and are now in a pro league. The Panyee Soccer Club short teaches me to never give up. The Panyee Soccer Club shows this through the beginning where the villager makes fun of them but they follow through with their idea and build a pitch. Another part of the Panyee Soccer Club video is in the middle, they were losing in the tournament and thought it was over, but they kept on fighting and tied it up, and most of all, at the very end it showed them as world champions which they followed through on their dreams. In the beginning story is when they thought of being professional soccer and created a team.…

I have been volunteering with the Spina Bifida Association of Alabama (SBA) for five years. I first decided to begin working with this association because working with children who have disabilities has always held a special place in my heart. Working with the SBA has helped me make a difference in my community and bring awareness to the disease of Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida victims have many limitations. The disease causes problems with their walking skills and most victims become confined to a wheel chair early in life.…
I also had the opportunity to go and help teach at our middle school level color guard as well. Watching younger and more inexperienced members master skills that I helped them learn inspired me to pursue more teaching opportunities. For a little while I volunteered at my church and was able to teach other people to do the jobs that I was in charge of when I was finished. I also decided to…
At the Woodlands Country Club, I am lucky enough to monitor and interact with the members' children. With the help of coworkers, I design and adapt various games and activities to play with the youngsters. Artistic projects, physically active games, and educational tasks are a few examples of the proposals we expand upon. At heart, I still am a young child, and the chance to be creative in developing ideas is uplifting. My positive interactions with the children has gained the trust of their parents, and as a result I am frequently asked to come to their homes individually and tend their children.…
I would first like to start off by expressing how honored I am for being recognized by your organization, as well as overjoyed to have received an invitation to apply for the Johnnie Ruth Clarke Scholarship. I am a focused young man, with a spirit of perseverance, and despite having adversities within my young life, they have not harmed my character, nor the goals that I have on the road towards my future success. I am looking forward with an optimistic mind that I will be so fortunate as to receive this scholarship, it will stand to be a major impact on my journey towards pursuing an active and productive role within society, as well as being a positive role model within my culture. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a fascination within the field of law and justice, I joined the Criminal Justice Academy’s magnet program located at Pinellas Park High School and…
A veteran to me is a patriotic, unselfish, brave, and courageous person, who would sacrifice time from their families to serve and protect our nation. As Jeff Miller once said, “The willingness of America’s Veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.” Veterans from every country have served throughout many wars. They have put their blood, sweat, and effort into doing the right and beneficial thing for their nation. Being a veteran means not only to serve in the military, but it means to have the selflessness and courage to go off to war to ensure the freedom of the nation.…
Being involved in the community will change ones life. It was my senior year in high school until I realized what happens when one gets involved in their community. Being involved in the Miracle League not only helped the kids, it helped me as a person. I still remember the first time I went to the Miracle League. It was a tradition of my baseball team to go to the Miracle League once a year.…
Throughout the summer I decided that I wanted to spend most of my time volunteering at youth cheerleading camps. Not only did I get the chance to interact with younger girls and set a good role model, but I also got the chance to work with other girls my age who have talent and loves cheerleading just as much as I do! The two camps I was a part of was the Danny Lansanah Football/Cheerleading Camp and the Packers & Broncos Cheerleading Camp. Both camps were located at John Harris High School for ages 5-14 and were free with food provided. During both camps my job was to focus on the basic skills you need to learn to become a cheerleader and also make up a routine to teach the girls.…
During the summer, I was a D.A.R.E. Camp leader. Being a positive role model for the younger age is very important while each of the kids are still growing to find themselves. Having an encouraging yet open-minded personality I was able to express to them how acts of kindness make everyone feel…
What do you consider to be your most meaningful contribution to Colleges Against Cancer during the 2015-16 year? I think I consider my participation in Relay for Life event as the most meaningful contribution that I have made to Colleges Against Cancer during the school year. I was not able to attend Tuesday meetings especially on winter quarter because of a job I had that needed me on Tuesday nights. However, this did not hinder me to constantly communicate to my other committee members. When time permitted this spring, I actively participated during Tuesday meetings, some of the flyering weeks, the production for Relay props, and the event itself.…
Volunteering at Veterans Affairs Medical Center was one of the greatest experience I've ever had. Sitting down with the elderly and getting to know them, I noticed if more teens could actually sit down and take the time to talk to an elderly person they could gain an opulent amount of knowledge. Sitting down and getting to talk an innumerable amount of veterans as I could, I was intrigued by how each person had a story of their own going through WWII. Voluntarily, I was able to contribute to the organization by having open conversations with the veterans, providing beverages, and having a great time. It wasn't till the end of the program when my perception began to change about the organization I volunteered for, it's more than just about kids…
Throughout my years of high school, I have been involved in numerous volunteer opportunities that have given me different experiences. I have done everything from sitting outside Walmart in 10 degree weather in mid December raising money for UNICEF, to laughing while playing connect four with senior citizens in local nursing homes. However, one of the most meaningful things I have done has been volunteering in my town’s VFW post. My passion for helping those at the VFW stemmed from my entrance into the National Honor Society, and since then, it has grown to be one of my favorite volunteer activities. I am currently the NHS Chairperson for the VFW dinners that occur every friday from September to May.…
