I choose KPMG (Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler) since it 's one of the leading accounting firms that I admire most. I think it is a prominent firm that has been successful for many years across the entire globe. Also, I am an accountant and have admired this company over the years. I always wondered what drives them to be so successful. KPMG was established in 1987, and its global headquarters is in Amstelveen, Netherlands. It provides audit, tax, and advisory consultation which help clients mitigate risks and grasp opportunities. It offers a framework of outstanding professionals who work together to deliver value to its clients, people, and capital market.
KPMG’s mission reason for being is ‘turning knowledge and understanding of information, industries, and business trends into value for the benefit of its clients, its people, and capital markets.’ Carpenter M. T. (2009). pg. 75 defines mission statement “as a statement that communicates the organization’s reason for being and how it aims to serve its key stakeholders.” KPMG’s (NL) mission statement reflects the company’s raison d’etre by communicating KPMG’s core services which are the services necessary for businesses to run smoothly. In other words, who are KPMG’s stakeholders? These include the key parties that have some influence over the organization and have a stake in its future. KPMG stakeholders are employees, clients, investors, suppliers, and institutions such as government. KPMG offers a financial service needed by the government to ensure all accounting principles, regulations and policies are adhered to by their clients while operating businesses and agencies.
