Don’t drink the kool aid

"Make sure you stay away from the abandoned building," they said. I should have listened. I was in the basement when I notice red liquid splashed into a shadow and I was scared hoping the liquid isn’t what I think it is. I flicked the light switch up hoping my question would be answered but instead a loud *bang* echoed throughout the room and a shower of sparks fell in front of me and I noticed the light exploded. “Son of a biscuit” I responded.
I took out my phone and shined the screen towards the dark red liquid and what I found baffled my mind for a few moments. What I found was a pitcher of red kool aid with the edge of the pitcher chipped off, but with ice in it. I started to stare at the ice cubes and began to

“Wake up!” Then water splashed my face. Once I wiped the water from my tired eyes I noticed that I wasn’t in my room. In the corner of the room there sat the man who now had the helmet he was sitting on before on his head which is apparently a leather cap. I tried to get up but my hands were tied behind me on a metal chain attached to the wall. The man walked up to me making my heart race faster than any car and pulled out what appeared to be another kool aid pouch but it was blackberry flavored. One of an all time favorite drink mix is of course Kool-Aid, however, is there a new mix on the rise in the store shelves? While Kool-Aid powder has always been a go-to for many American’s dating back to 1927, a new drink mix has recently been sweeping the nation in the form of liquid called Mio. Mio is a flavor enhancing liquid stored inside a portable small container making it easily accessible to squirt into water bottles while you’re on the go. An estimated 80% of American’s know or have heard of the Kool-Aid man commercials, where the pitcher of red Kool-Aid with a face and human characteristics breaks through the wall and yells the signature catch phrase of Kool-Aid “OH YEAH”. As you may have guessed this is very popular with the kids and even more so when the big pitcher of Kool-Aid breaks in during school!…

For it was said, “…One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them in the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.” The Ring was a piece of metal that denoted the fall of man; it illustrated how much control a small item can have over an entity. Another object which led to the downfall of men was the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge in the Biblical book of Genesis. Just as the One Ring of Power caused many to die and numerous more to succumb to its power, the fruit from the tree triggered the descent of Adam and Eve into the devil’s will. Both the fruit and Sauron’s Ring are symbols of the corruption of power because those who came in contact with the objects, believed they would be smarter and possess a stronger influence over others.…

Despite the misdeeds committed by Gyges, he was not born wicked. Rather, the actions he took using the ring are the result of his own circumstance and their own experiences, rather than any broad notion of all humans being inherently villainous. As every human differs in these factors, individual response to the temptation of the ring would vary drastically ― in the same way that electricity may be used to power a hospital or fry a man, so might the ring be used for harmless jokes, to escape from attackers, or…

Lines “Just tell me this Doctor, suppose you really are a slave of the drug habit, is there any cure?” I lay alone on a bench on the fringe of some park, wearing the same clothes as yesterday; a grey hoodie, shapeless, faded jeans and trainers with frayed laces. Around me the park was seemingly void of any life, I liked being here, the way the trees rustled to the the ominous tune of the wind, the way the glistening grass rolled down to the lake side, but most of all, I liked how here I could escape the disapproving gazes that seemed to endlessly pursue me. A few streets back I could hear the hoard of commuters fighting their way onto to the final train of the night, their yells piercing and horns blaring through the damp evening air. But the crowd meant nothing to me, I wasn’t a part of it, I never had been,…

I Bailey Jaggers was at the hospital with my dad, who had been shot, when I met Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry Curtis. I am not seeking a mother figure in my life nor do I have any weird sexual fantasies about Samara and her actions. This just leave Noel Carroll and his theory. Just like A Nightmare on Elm Street, I believe that Noel’s theory fits perfectly with why I enjoyed The Ring. The concept of the film is very fascinating.…
