Growing up, almost every single girl my age played soccer, but I on the other hand, found myself spending a lot of my weekends at the Koko Head Shooting Range. I first learned how to shoot when I was 9 years old and since then, I have been utterly hooked. However, I never really talked about this passion with my friends because when most people hear the word “gun” or “shooting” they associate those words with violence and crime. But to me, this hobby represents so much more. Even though I always found excuses to not try out for the air riflery team at my high school, I still believe that shooting is an exemplary individual sport that assists in developing critical life skills.
