While studying the case R. v Hauser, it is clear to see why it is known to be one of the leading constitutional decisions in understanding the workings of Peace, order and good governments in relation to a power struggle of jurisdiction. The whole case surrounds the question on whether the Attorney General, or the Attorney General of Canada should have the power to control the prosecution under the Federal Narcotics Control Act. It is a battle for powers of jurisdiction in regards to the criminal code, and more so the Narcotics Control Act; (NCA), 1961. The 1980 court case, Armstrong V. Kline, drew from parents of children with exceptionalities becoming upset with the education system’s 180-day school year rule1. Beginning in January of 1980, they decided that enough was enough and they needed to do something before summer vacation came so, their child/children would not lose everything they learned during the school year1. The most appealing aspect of this solution for publishers would be the cost efficiency of it. Most publishers say that the excessive cost of textbooks is caused by the extra frills in them (cite). These frills are the supplementary items like CDs, workbooks, and other materials used to help students practice (cite). With a switch to online textbooks publishers could still have those materials with textbooks but instead of them printing them out separately they can just bundle them together. One publisher that I’ve seen does this is McGraw-Hill, for their online textbooks students can read and get questions after every section or chapter to see what they learned.…

Victim Precipitation Theory Jacob N Zucker Grantham University CJ102 Victim Precipitation Theory is the view that victims may initiate, either actively or passively, the confrontation that leads to their victimization (Siegel, 2014, p. 67). Active precipitation occurs when victims act provocatively, use threats or fighting words, or even attack first, resulting in their victimization (Siegel, 2014, p. 67). Passive precipitation is personal or social characteristics of victims that make them attractive to criminals; such victims may unknowingly either threaten or encourage their attackers (Siegel, 2014, p. 68). A case study and example of passive precipitation is the case of the murder of Bud and June Runion in January…
