Gang Member, Kody is hospitalized for wounds he suffers. Not once was he ever declared mentally unstable, nor is a biological reason stated for his crimes. Therefore, the Biological theory doesn’t apply to Kody at all. Also Kody expresses free will several times throughout the memoir. A prime example of this is when he flashes a gang symbol in his school picture. He states that he knew he would get in trouble and that he didn’t care. Another example of why the Biological theory doesn’t apply is the fact Kody winds up distancing from gangs and crimes to try and teach morels to his kids. To summarize, I believe that Biological theory doesn’t apply to Kody because several times in the book he expresses free will, combined with the fact that he is never judged to be mentally
