Monday Night Kobe Bryant continued to tie all of our heads in a knot, by putting up great numbers by Lakers’ standards; unfortunately, he posted up “Okay” numbers by the rest of the leagues’ standards. Should the all-powerful, all-knowing, Black Mamba retire? The Lakers have accomplished so much with Kobe being their Golden child; Recently, the Lakers stand in the last place in the Western Conference. Has the fact that Kobe Bryant himself commented about his pending retirement and more shockingly, not shot the idea down? Has this season and many more tarnished his legacy? Above all, does the Black Mamba need to step aside to let some youngsters have their time in the sun and let the Lakers see what they have for future seasons to come? While saying all of this, Kobe Bryant has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't know for sure if he is ready to pull the plug on a magnificent NBA career, even if it sure looks to be heading in that direction this early in the NBA season. …show more content…
But with every question thrown at him about his undetermined retirement, his confidence slowly started to fade. Words like "If it is, it is," started to give people the rough idea that maybe Kobe, himself, has started to think about putting away the basketball shoes, shaking hands with the commissioner, and walk into the sunset, as we are just left with a silhouette of one of the greatest Basketball players of all time, wouldn't that be much more peaceful? However, it's a side effect of being great, never knowing when to disappear into the sunset.
