First, there are explosions, shouting and the impacts of feet hitting hot hard concrete. Then, a single gunshot, a flash of light, then nothing. Absolutely nothing, which is surprisingly difficult to visualize. Koaye Anderson then finds herself in a simple white land. There is no wildlife, no wind or water, and no sky. Even though there is no visible light source, light still makes it into her eyes. Before the flash of light, she was wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt, but now, she is wearing a long white flowing robe which has the same flow as her long black hair; she is barefoot. She has defined eyebrows, a modest straight nose and lips that are not too thin nor too fat. She has eyes of the most vibrant sky blue. She does not know where …show more content…
His voice would cause anyone to feel safe and secure whenever it was heard. “Wh.. Where am I?” Koaye asks with puzzlement and astonishment, all of a sudden feeling secure hearing the man’s voice. She wonders how he knows her name. “ I actually don’t know” the man said. “We have all the time in this world to do whatever we want. I knew you were coming, I just did not know when!” he said with a chuckle, “Come in! I want to watch something with you!”.

Koaye says yes and they walk inside the little house. Inside, it looks modest and is full of color compared to the outside land. The floor is a lush green with a marvelous tangerine orange on the walls with a light absorbing black on the ceiling. Koaye feels at home immediately. In front of them sits a couch facing towards a screen with a remote laying beside it. “Sit with me” says the man, prompting her to sit on the couch with him. She sits down next to him, slightly tense about what will happen next. He then reaches for the remote, presses a button and the screen turns on

Koaye is in shock and then starts crying. “Do you know who that woman was?” asked the man. “Y..Yes,” she says, sobbing uncontrollably. The man scoots towards her and gives her a bear hug and starts comforting her. “You will never return to the world of the living, you can only stay here…. I’m sorry”. “I know that now,” she says, sniffling. Koaye Anderson’s tears, then soak the long robe of the man who comforts her as she cries into his

I had two blood sisters, three step sisters, a step brother, and a half-sister, and I was never ashamed to tell people that. My life felt normal to me.…
