In the story we see the blacks living in fear because of the white men of the community. An example of this was when a young girl in the story was being taunted by Mr.Ewell so she took the time to walk the long way home just so she wouldn't have to walk by his house. Could you imagine having to live in constant fear? This is what people of the KKK do with people of other races, they taunt them. In the novel we see Scout and her brother Jem trying to figure out what to think about racism. Their father, Atticus was a good man who didn’t see the difference between whites and blacks. Atticus stood up for people like Tom Robertson, who was blamed for things he didn't do just because of the color of his skin. But there was other characters that didn't stand up for them.The issue of The KKK connects to the book because some of the actions people make in the book resembles things that the KKK did and still does
