I came in too exam return day knowing that I did well on the math exam. But in reality, I did not. I received a 68%, and it was my worst mark in any class all year. This was the point in time when I knew that I was never going to be great at math. I thought to myself that I should stick too what I am good at which is History, Geography, French. But no, that summer I made a vow to myself that I would average an over 90% in all of my courses. Secondly, going into the grade 8 exam season, I knew I had something to prove to my parents, my friends, and especially myself. I studied harder than I could ever imagine; It was the hardest two-three weeks of my life. It was not over until I received my marks. The first exam I was getting back was my French exam; That exam was one of the hardest ones because it is not my primary language. I got my exam back, and it read 87%. From that point on my marks kept on flooding in... 80...87...88...83...86. I rose from the dead and redeemed myself; I was able to obtain an 85.2% average throughout all of my exams. That was a lot better than I what I received a year prior. I proved to myself that I am not another genius kid who was born incredibly smart. No, I redeemed myself by putting the work in in the classroom and out
