I am not a runner. In fact, the last time I ran a mile was about three years ago in freshman P.E. class. So naturally, when my mom proposed I run a 5k, which is about three times more than what I’ve ever run before, I laughed it off and followed it with a sarcastic “Yeah… I’ll think about it.” I guess I wasn’t sarcastic enough because within a few hours I received an email from my mom that showed that I was registered and all race dues were paid for. The morning of the race was nothing short of miserable. It was raining, and about fifty degrees with high wind speeds. There was nowhere to take shelter or stay warm in the couple of hours leading up to the race, leaving me too cold to move around and warm up before running. It was finally time
