Kissed The River Tribe

I think the narrators fears in losing his parents or anyone that’s really close to him. I also believe that he fears his tribe’s disapproval. When he kissed the white girl, he felt like he betrayed his tribe. “But on the day I leaned through the basement window of the HUD house and kissed the white girl, I felt the goodbyes I was saying to my entire tribe”. I think the tribe wouldn’t approve of this because she is white and not Indian. I believe his desire is to make something about his life, so he started playing basketball. I think the narrator wrote this like a diary because he wants the reader to understand clearly instead of being complex. I also found this story to be easier than the other because it’s in sequence. I think that first

The story “Everything Stuck to Him,” by Raymond Carver, is a narrative which employs the format of a frame story. In the beginning of the story, Carver depicts a setting where a father is telling his daughter about an incident when she was an infant. The usage of a frame story enhances the emotion that is felt, of which is communicated indirectly to the reader. A narrative about cancelling a hunting trip and spilling maple syrup would otherwise have no significance had it not been for the symbolism employed. Through the use of plot, the author’s minimalist style, and his universal themes, Carver further drives the story, enhancing its meaning.…

In the beginning Junior becomes depressed when he loses his best friend because he starts going to a different school, “I stayed on the ground for a long time after Rowdy walked away. I stupidly hoped that time would stand still. But I had to stand eventually, and when I did, I knew that my best friend had become my worst enemy” (Alexie 53).…

This not only made this scene memorable but made an impact on all societies everywhere. McConaugheys’ performance was very convincing as he also begins to get chocked up during his delivery of his argument. In this scene the performance of Carl Lee (Samuel L. Jackson), Omar Noose (Patrick McGoohan), and Jake Brigance (Matthew McConaughey) are outstanding. The cinematographers’ (Peter Menzies Jr.) use of lighting, filters, and choices of lens made all these actors standout. Menzies was able to bring the jury, Carl Lee Hailey, Jake Brigance, Omar Noose, and all other spectators in the courtroom, come into focus at specific times, to show the emotions tearing through the courtroom.…
