Kiss Land Concert Report

Three years ago I went to see The Weeknd preform during his Kiss Land tour. Three friends and I drove from Topeka to Houston to see the concert on September 24th. This was the first concert I had ever attended, so I have a good memory of the event. It was quite a wonderful experience seeing one of my favorite R&B artist preform live in such an amazing venue. The concert was at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas. The venue could hold around 5000 people, and had both standing and sitting room. There was approximately 3000 standing tickets and 2000 seating tickets available for the concert. I was surprised at how big the venue seemed once we got inside. Since I had never been to a concert before it was a bit overwhelming seeing that many people packed into the music hall. Our tickets were located in the seating …show more content…
I had never heard a crowd cheer like when the spotlight shined on him and he began to sing. The atmosphere was incredible, and I have yet to experience something similar at any other concert I have been to. The different spotlight they used and the screens that played videos behind him on stage were done very well. Throughout the concert he played songs from Kiss Land most of the songs on his Album. He also played some of his more popular songs from his previous mixtape, The Trilogy. I was a bit disappointed that some of my favorites were left out. Tears in The Rain was one of my favorite songs on Kiss Land and unfortunately he did not perform this song. There were a few songs I was not expecting him to play from his older mixtape like, Twenty-Eight, The Zone, and Montreal, but was still disappointed that they were not performed.
Overall, I would say that this concert was a great experience. I got to see one of my favorite artist preform in a great venue. It was a good first concert to attend, and something I will never

Also being that the venue was indoors helped the atmosphere. In my opinion, I really enjoyed the concert because I love listening to his music and having him perform it live in front of me was amazing, you also felt as if you were going on an emotional journey with drake through his life, with ups and the downs being highlighted throughout his music. The quality of the live music was really good compared to some live performances I’ve been as it was clear and didn’t sound a lot different to the studio recordings. I felt that the audience really enjoyed his concert too, they were singing and rapping along for the entire concert and couldn’t have seemed to love him more. My overall impression of the concert was that drake is a really talented performer and knows how to get a crowd hyped up, he uses a lot of emotion in his songs which really creates a deep intimacy in his slower songs and helps him to connect with his audience.…

This would create a good environment for many people at the concert due to their love of parties and the similarities it showed to a party. The most memorable part of the concert was the atmosphere that I experienced rather than the music because it was like nothing I had experienced before. The theme that was introduced most was people partying and having…

I attended Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, 50th Anniversary Celebration concert at the Division of Fine & Performing Arts at Paradise Valley Community College. There were two sides to the program, the first one included the album of Sgt. They had a band that consisted of many vocalists, and instrumentalists and also, an orchestra with many members who played a variety of different instruments.…

Overall, they gave a brilliant performance. The atmosphere created by both, the artists and the audience, was the most outstanding part of the concert. The band was very energetic despite of being performing for hours. They played the new hits in the album as well as some of their classic tunes, which was greatly applauded…

The Echosmith concert didn’t draw a huge crowd of people to come, so the venue was appropriately chosen to accommodate the smaller crowd. Also having the venue be on campus is very convenient for all the students who attended. While the venue was moderately sized, the amount of people inside the auditorium made it very hot inside. There was no air conditioning to accommodate the high amount of jumping kids. Another problem with this venue was that there were no concessions available for purchase.…

I thoroughly enjoyed being able to attend a concert and, on top of enjoying the music, I actually understood the music, the set up, and how the music I was listening to has really been decades in the making. It was eye opening to see how bands that had broken up years before Tegan and Sara were even born can still impact their music in such crucial way, whether people realize it or not. I have always enjoyed listening to music, but it really adds a new element of enjoyment when a person actually understands the music and all the work that went into its…

Saxophonist Odean Pope delighted the audience with fabulous arrangements of acknowledged tunes with his expansive Saxophone Choir. The sparkling harmonic sequences led to soulful approaches and the balance between the improvised and the arranged was awesome. They kicked in with “To the Roach”, a piece dedicated to the drummer Max Roach, and proceeded with bubbling sax improvisations on “Coltrane Time”, Pope’s ballad “Cis” and an Afro-Latin piece packed with baritone fills whose title I couldn’t figure out.…
