Kira And Samm

If the face of all humanity was in danger would you stay to help or would you flee at the sight? Kira Walker decides to take this role upon herself and help save humanity. The average lifespan of a child during this time was fifty-six hours. This pained Kira more than anything being a medic at the time. They couldn’t even let the parents get attached to their child because they knew that within a couple hours that child would no longer be alive. Through these conflicts we can see an advancement in the plot and a theme arises. The theme of this book is working together for survival. There are several parts in the book where we see conflicts arise through the theme. Samm, is the Partial that Kira brings back to East Meadow to study in order to find a cure for RM. As we know the Partials and humans are enemies and do not associate with each other. Kira must develop a close relationship with Samm, who is part of the group that almost destroyed the whole human race. She no longer calls him an “it,” she calls him by his name, Samm. As Kira’s point of view changes about Samm her friends point of view also changes. Marcus, Kira’s boyfriend also a medic in training, is totally against the idea of Kira being alone with Samm but soon learns of Kira and Samm's relationship. Although he does not see it at first he realizes that Samm may be able to help with the survival of humanity. The humans are learning that they may depend on Partials for survival.
