In this scene the reader sees Superman at the lead, accompanied, presumably, by other heroes of the Justice League, flying through the burning torch of the Statue of Liberty, presumably on their way to do justice. The reader knows that this is the torch of the Statue of Liberty because of the shape of the flame being depicted, and because the design of the torch matches that of the actual statue. Each of the heroes is positioned in a cross-like form, with their arms spread out and fists clenched. The cross formation is in reference to Christs crucifixion and how he relieves humans of their sin. The heroes faces are completely blurred out, so the only way we can tell these are the heroes we know and love is through their identifying features, such as Superman's signature hair curl and his cape. The panel is clearly referencing the coming end of times that the universe of Kingdom Come is soon to experience at the hands of supreme beings. The idea of supreme beings is also important to the panel image. Superheroes are inherently seen as supreme beings, just as humans view God and Jesus as supreme beings.
