King Of The Kill Research Paper

I was recently gifted "H1Z1 - King Of The Kill" by a friend of mine. Personally, my thoughts about the game before today were generally negative. I could only compare it to "PLAYERUNKNOWN BATTLEGROUNDS", better known as PUBG. I bought myself PUBG because it was openly considered by the community as a superior game. I actually was planning on buying KOTK, but I learned about PUBG the same day and decided to hold out until release. Of course, this review isn't about PUBG, but I am going to use it to contrast.

H1Z1 is a "hunger games with guns"-like FPS shooter where you are put either alone, with a partner, or with a team alone into a war zone empty handed. You must find weapons and gear to kill up to 200 people and stay alive, until you or

This makes me very happy, and it should make some of you happy, because competition in a game is golden. They have hosted events before for the public, where the prize is a skin, but they are inconsistent and frequently get canceled. There is also a tournaments menu, but it says it is upcoming as of 4/30/2017. I think H1Z1 would have a spike in popularity if these things got set up properly.

There is also another version of H1Z1, which is actually the original. "H1Z1 - Just Survive" is a zombie survival game where you have to worry about the zombies and players. Think of it as Rust, but with zombies. (Which actually used to be a thing!) H1Z1 used to be a singular game, with KOTK being just a minigame. But the minigame became more popular than the survival, so naturally they made it it's own game, doubling the cost of the "complete" game.

In conclusion, I think H1Z1 doesn't get enough credit. The game is great - I played it for 7 hours straight. Although it's not a perfect game, as every game has its flaws. The gunplay is decent, the driving and UI are nice, and playing is a smooth experience. Should you buy it? I think so. It's only $20 on steam, and is around $10 on G2A. The enjoyment you get out of it is definitely worth it, and I'm going to continue playing

In my English class, we have been studying the Monomyth (or the hero’s journey.) Studying the format, I realized that many video games follow the monomyth formulas. This gave me an idea for my own game. The name of the game would be Gun Hill, based off of the movie gun hill with some slight altercations. I have an idea for a more complicated game that will keep the attention of the players and keep them wanting to know more.…

One of the biggest factors that separate good roguelikes from not-so-good roguelikes is the balance between progression and replayability. Once More With Gusto’s Eternal Step is a 2D roguelike action-adventure game with a great progression system that makes every challenging playthrough worthwhile. Like most other roguelikes, Eternal Step is set in a tower that has endless floors full of traps, treasures, and monsters. Every floor is only one room and these rooms seem to be randomly generated. They often include a mix of hidden treasures and hazardous traps.…

Splinter Cell Blacklist – Sam Fisher is back, but with a different voice! Splinter Cell Conviction was one of my favorite games of all time. I just loved the way the game turned out to be and Sam Fisher was gritty and fearless. It reminded me a lot of the movie Taken. Similar to Liam Neeson going after his daughter, Sam is hunting for the person who allegedly killed his daughter.…

As I have gotten older my taste in video games has not changed very much. The last game of Medal of Honor I played came out only a year after Frontline it was called Rising Sun this game was based in the pacific theater of WWII. Where you fight the Japanese Empire from the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 then head across the pacific doing various mission until finally ending the game when you attack and destroy a Japanese super carrier. After I stopped playing the MOH series I fell in love with Call of Duty 4 which came out in 2007 when I was 13. Around this time is when online multiplayer started to become really popular and with online matchmaking came the ability to play against anyone in the world anytime you wanted.…

I recommend not playing multiplayer until you have finished the campaign, since the controls can be hard to grasp for players new to the series. I had a blast rolling, shooting, and swinging through the gorgeous maps that Naughty Dog has brought us. The game truly eliminates a “one man army” and promotes teamwork. I found myself moving with my teammates to win matches instead of going lone wolf.…

To anyone who still plays or has played Halo: I have a theory. To start; Halo, as a series is, to me, without question the absolute greatest video game series I have ever played. I bought my first xbox when I was about 8 years old, but when my brother bought Halo 2, I played that game more times than I cared to count until my hands could actually hit all the buttons on the controller and I had memorized where all the enemies spawned in, lob a grenade, and take them out before they could fire. I spent the night after grade 8 ended playing Halo: Reach until 5am, then continued to play it after a much needed power nap.…

Mental illness is not a game to be played, because in the end everyone loses. In 2014, nearly 1 in 5 people are diagnosed with some type of mental disorder(Bekiempis). Most people just look at a mental person and assume they can't get better, and throw them into a mental hospital. A recent article in the New York Times newspaper by Andrew Solomon introduced a new type of virtual reality, called the Fear VR 5150.
