This makes me very happy, and it should make some of you happy, because competition in a game is golden. They have hosted events before for the public, where the prize is a skin, but they are inconsistent and frequently get canceled. There is also a tournaments menu, but it says it is upcoming as of 4/30/2017. I think H1Z1 would have a spike in popularity if these things got set up properly.
There is also another version of H1Z1, which is actually the original. "H1Z1 - Just Survive" is a zombie survival game where you have to worry about the zombies and players. The gunplay is decent, the driving and UI are nice, and playing is a smooth experience. Should you buy it? I think so. It's only $20 on steam, and is around $10 on G2A. The enjoyment you get out of it is definitely worth it, and I'm going to continue playing
