I was born in Madrigal de las Altas Torres on April 22, 1451. Unfortunately, my father died in 1454 and I was very young so I spent my childhood in Arévalo. I have two brothers, one named Alfonso who is 3 years younger than me and a half brother named Henry IV. After my father died, Henry assumed the position of king of Castile. He later got married and had a child named Joan. When I was ten, I was taken out of Arévalo and sent back to the court with my younger brother, Alfonso. Henry was going to make Alfonso the next king but changed his mind. Then, there was a battle about Alfonso being the next heir in the future. This battle was called the battle of Olmedo in 1467, but it was a draw. The king then decided that I will be the next heir because I showed my loyalty to …show more content…
Then my brother, Alfonso died at age 14; it was very sad. Later, in 1469, October 19th I married Ferdinand. He was the heir to the throne of Aragon. We are going to have a happy life with lots of children in our future! Furthermore, I went to Segovia and was crowned queen. It was a wonderful celebration on December 13th, 1474.

Additionally, a lot of major things happened in my life during 1492. First, Ferdinand and I were trying to conquer Granada, a mostly Muslim country for ten years. We finally were able to conquer it in 1492. Then, on January 2, 1492, the treaty of Granada was signed and this lets Islamic believers keep their religion for now. Next, I expelled the Jews and the Muslims on March 31, 1492; this was called the ‘religious cleansing’ which stated that all Jews and Muslims must convert or leave.
