Daniel was chosen to come to Babylonia to serve in the royal court. Daniel was an Israelite exile from the tribe of Judah. In the kings second year of ruling he had a disturbing dream. He sent for all his fortunetellers, magicians, and wizards but not one of them could explain it. At this king flew into rage and ordered all the royal advisers execution including Daniel and his friends. Daniel went to the king and told him his dream and explained it. The king called of the execution and rewarded Daniel. Not long after the king set up a gold statue and told everyone to worship it. Seizing the chance to get Daniels friends arrested the supervisors went to the king and told him that the friends were disobeying him. The king arrested them and …show more content…
Then the king had another dream he sent for Daniel who explained the dream. The king was to be driven out of human society and live like an animal until he respected the supreme God. His dream came true. While the king was living with the animals his son Belshazzar became king. One night Belshazzar had a banquet he told his servants to bring out the gold and silver cups and bowls which his father had stolen from the Jewish temple. Suddenly a hand appeared and started writing in a strange language on the wall. Daniel was brought in immediately. He explained the writing on the wall. That night the king died. Darius then seized power. Daniel was put in charge of the supervisors and governors. But Daniel was so outstanding that the supervisors became jealous and tried to find something Daniel did wrong but they couldn’t so they went to the king to have him sign a law that for 30 days no one can ask the gods for anything. The king signed it. Then the supervisors caught Daniel praying they went to the king and explained what they saw. They insisted the king throw Daniel in a pit of lions so the king did. So Daniel was thrown in with the lions and there he prayed to God for …show more content…
The next morning the king hurried to the pit and called out Daniel are you there Daniel answered I am the lord sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions. The king then gave orders to pull Daniel out of the pit and those who had accused him thrown in. Before all this Daniel had had a couple of visions which the angel Gabriel
