King Richard was afraid Lord Vernon would try and harm his son, Prince Christopher. So he sent a messenger to his friend Carlin to take care of Christopher. Carlin took care of Christopher, and they lived together in Carlin’s hut. Later, when Christopher was five, he went to a boarding school and lived there. When he grew up, he became a teacher.
One sad day, King Richard died; he had been killed by Lord Vernon! This meant only Prince Christopher stood in his way of being king. Lord Vernon was on his way to kill Prince Christopher.

He went following Prince Christopher and Carlin to give it back. He saw the soldiers capture Carlin and Prince Christopher. Luckily, Carlin used one of his potions called the “invisibility” potion. He vanished and went out of the soldier’s hands, escaping to the hidden hut. Prince Christopher was not so lucky, and he was put in jail.
James went to Carlin to see if he could help. Carlin said that the potion worked on a person one time in twenty-four hours and he should use it to rescue Prince Christopher. James took two potions and drank one. He went to the jail, and because he was invisible, snuck the keys, unlocked the jail, and gave Prince Christopher the other potion. They both escaped!
The guards were all celebrating that they had caught the prince, not realizing that James had freed him. Prince Christopher and James went to get Carlin, and then they went back together to the castle and told the people that Lord Vernon was fake and not the real king. They sent him to the dungeon forever! King Christopher was the new king. Long live King Christopher!
And they all lived happily ever
