One way in which the Natural portrays aspects of King Arthur is which Pop Fisher. Fisher is like Fisher King. In the book, when Pop gets sick, the fans stop showing up, the playing field become dry, and the team loses games. Another aspect is The Waste Lands when the King is ill the land is dry and bare. Perceval comes to help the king and the grass starts to grow and flowers flourish. In the book, The Waste Land is the Knights' baseball field. When Roy Hobbs shows up to play ball the droughts begin to lift off of the team and the ground. Another example would be Brancheflor. This was a woman who clouded Perceval's judgment and distracts him from his duties. In the Natural, Roy has Memo, who also distracts him from his duties. She persuades
