I had to interest in seeing the carriage, but Arthur desperately wanted to so I decided to stand behind him outside our home when the king, his guards, and whoever else was with him rode past our shack. After hours of standing in the cold to make my son happy I began to wonder if the rumors were true maybe the carriage wasn't going to pass through our village. What if the king was hurt what if he had changed his mind what if the carriage was attacked, but those questions all poured out of my ears when Arthur tugged on my shelve. “Father where is the king?” “Don't worry I am sure his carriage will come racing down the road any second.” Arthur took my word as law the royal carriage had to come if it didn't it would break his heart. The entire village was standing on both sides of the dirt road that went through the heart of our town waiting for the carriage to finally crawl over the snow covered horizon. …show more content…
Servants would gather around them anytime they snapped their fingers, clapped their hands, or just coughed. I remember a few years ago a local noble sent for me to heal his son who had fallen out of a tree and broken his right leg. I healed the boy, but before I left the noble sneeze and became hidden behind a curtain of servants all holding out handkerchiefs for their master to blow his nose on. The noble and his slaves made me no attention as I walked out of his home and returned to my village. Royalty were greedy, cruel, and apathetic monsters coated in a veil of jewelry, expensive attire, and a title. After I saved Claire's life we would talk every day for at least an hour causing a friendship to

What is your first thought when you think of King Arthur? Is it the shining knights valiantly fighting evil doers, is it Merlin casting magic spells, or is it the tragic love story of Guinevere and Lancelot? Several people over the years have taken on the challenge of re-imagining the Arthurian legends, shaping them for their own purposes, adding new interpretations to the old stories. One such retelling of the legends is the novel The Once and Future King written by the author T. H. White, a problematic man living during one of the most tumultuous periods in the twentieth century, World War II.…

    King Arthur's Heroic Hero

I think Arthur is heroic not only because he is brave and courageous but also because he strives to live up to the code of honor he sets for his knights. He really tries to follow his code even when it is not of benefit to him. For example, he give Mordred a place at court because his code of honor requires him to do so even when he know that Mordred is dangerous. He does not want to acknowledge Launcelot and Guenever because it would break the code by bringing a lady to dishonor and would not be in the best interest of the kingdom. Even after he is at war with Launcelot, he is willing to meet with him honorably.…

In his work, Morte Darthur, Malory covers a lengthy period of time with few words through the narratives of Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Throughout the text, Malory does not waste words on smooth transitions, instead bluntly marking the beginning and end of each tale. These blunt and straightforward transitions are a classic trait of Malory’s writings. Though Malory draws from the French tales of Arthur and his knights, Malory does not choose to approach the narrative in the poetic format as his predecessors instead choosing a prose format instead.…
