King Arthur exhibits being chivalrous by showing loyalty to his country. “‘...you have done a wicked and a shameful thing. Go now from my court, and from the realm of Logres, for you are no true knight unless you may redeem your honour by some brave deed or long penance.’” (p.30) This quote is during the scene when Balyn slays the damsel with a sword because she killed many brave men and women. King Arthur shows loyalty to his country by not showing Balyn favoritism and still gives him the punishment he deserves. Even though Balyn is apart of the King’s most trusted knights, Arthur knows he has to do what was right and punish Balyn.
