King Arthur Vs Excalibur Research Paper

In both First Knight and Excalibur the movies, they both display King Arthur as a magnificent man, who is courageous, witty, and does what is right, but both movies very from the beginning to the end. The opening scenes of the movies are dramatically different. In the movie the First night, King Arthur is an older gentleman who does not appear in the movie until Lady Guinevere of Leones comes to meet him. Before she meets him in the well know city of Camelot, she has villagers come to her after the infamous villain Merlin attacked them. She then knows what has to be done and goes to meet King Arthur for his hand in Marriage so Leones will be under the protection of Camelot. Uther rides on his steed as he cuts down his opponents and then sees Merlin. In Excalibur, Merlin is a sorcerer who helps Uther become king. Uther rides down a hill after to go meet Merlin, and demands where the sword Excalibur is and that Merlin promised him the powerful sword. Merlin tells Uther that he will have the sword that was promised him. Uther and Cornwall called for peace meeting after the battle. Earlier that day, Merlin went and retrieved Excalibur from a small river. A hand appeared out of the water holding the sword and Merlin grabbed it and took it to Uther before the meeting in the woods with Cornwall. At the meeting the Cornwall offers one land and one king to Uther. Uther offers him land from the woods to the sea if he enforces the king laws and they both agreed. Later that night both groups celebrate the peace by feasting and drinking. Cornwall ask his asked his wife dance so he could show her off, but that was a mistake that would lead to more war. Uther stared at Cornwall’s wife and wanted one night with her. Cornwall saw how Uther was looking at his wife with bad intentions and this is what caused more war to break
