The Grail was said to be at the Last Supper and at the Crucifixion to received blood from Christ’s side, it was the main quest for King Arthur and his knights. It was said to be guarded by a custodian called the Fisher King, who has suffered through wounds that cannot be healed. On the eve of the Pentecost, a beautiful lady arrived at Lancelot, asking him to go into the woods and Lancelot agreed. When he arrived in Camelot, he called for a meeting and said: “Four hundred and fifty years have passed since the passing of our Lord Jesus Christ: And on the day of Pentecost, this seat shall find its master.” Shortly after he said this, the image of the Holy Grail appeared floating over the table. Many who tried to find it came back badly injured, or worse, dead. Then. three knights went out in search of the Grail, which was Sir Bors, Sir Perceval, and Sir Galahad. They went out to find Galahad’s father and when they did, the king brought out a sword that was broken, but when Galahad held it, it was fixed. He then had a vision and heard that Camelot was unworthy of having it and the knights should take the Holy Grail tot the Holy City of Sarras. Many British histories have mentioned him, in which he was a Celtic Warlord who beat the Anglo-Saxon in the 400s. The stories had many different types of versions of literature which were filled with many adventures. The stories had many new influences, such as Christianity, Chivalry, and rules and customs of medieval knighthood. The three main legends were Excalibur, The Round Table, and The Quest for the Holy Grail. Excalibur was said to be separated from the sword of the stone, was an unbreakable sword that the Lady of the Lake gave him. Morgan Le Fay stole the sword and even though it was recovered, the scabbard was forever lost, which led to King Arthur mortal wound and the sword being thrown back into the lake. The Knights of the Round Table was some of the most important people in the King Arthur legends, which was said to the “cream of the cream” of Knights. The table was built to enforce equality, to show that no one, not even King Arthur, was above anyone else. The Quest for the Holy Grail was the same Grail that was used in the Last Supper and at Christ’s crucifixion.
