In the photo above I am about to apply force on the soccer ball. My leg before I started a kicking motion had potential energy. As I started the kicking motion all the potential energy in my leg changed into kinetic energy. So when my foot made contact with the ball for a split second the ball had nothing but potential energy. As I followed through kinetic energy from my leg is transferred to the ball. The Law of Conservation of Energy says that energy is neither created or destroyed it only changes forms. So when I apply force to the ball no energy is lost and no energy is created it only changed from potential energy to kinetic
