Kinesthetic students learn most effectively when learners body is engaged. Kinesthetic learners benefit from activities that use their hands and sense of touch. For example, when teaching a kinesthetic learner about the different type of rocks; take the class to a rock quarry where the kinesthetic learners can see and touch the rock. Allowing the kinesthetic student feel each type of rock, the student can more efficiently recall how that specific type of rock felt. Another classroom activity that benefits the kinesthetic learner is to have the student draw graphs. I can use my learning style in college because when I am unsure of what the professor may ask, I may ask her to draw a picture when explaining. Most professors, I know are visual learners, thus most of their lessons are all in PowerPoint or they use the Smart Board when teaching. Overall, the professors at Broward College are very understanding. They recognize that every student learns a different and I really appreciate the different learning styles…

In Chapter Four of Holler If You Hear Me by Gregory Michie, the author describes how some of the other veteran teachers in his education classes expressed their views on the disconnect between education theory and classroom reality. One such example of this disconnect is the theory of differentiated instruction. I have learned a lot about differentiated instruction in my Foundations Block classes this semester, since I had not previously heard of the concept. In theory, this practice is a great way to tailor instruction to each student’s individual needs, as well as encourage learning and exploration.…

If a speaker was writing a speech for my brother and I, he or she may want to consider adding in visual elements and demonstrations.…

Kinesthetic learning is learning through experience from the application of your senses. I apply the kinesthetic learning style when it is available, such as labs for science, or on the job training. For myself this is the learning style where I can comprehend and understand the most as I will more likely be able to remember the experience. While the aural learning style is available to be used widely, kinesthetic learning is less broad. As a narrower field, it cannot always be practical to some things such as reading, or…
