Words can be twisted into any shape or form. They are a momentary promise that may never be fulfilled. Actions speak louder than words. We can apologise over and over, but if our actions don’t change, our words become meaningless.
Words are not the only way in which humans can communicate. Kinesics Communication is the ‘study of the way in which certain body movements and gestures serve as a form of non-verbal communication’. Body language plays a very important role in the means of communication. It can be used to strengthen or emphasise an opinion whilst offering insight to the emotions and attitudes of a person. It is the ability to rely on a person without having a second thought, or regretting your decision after you have made it. Trust takes years to build and comes from constant persistence, effort and care in order to back up your promises. Actions reveal a person’s true character. It is exceptionally easy to make promises or voice your opinions, but it takes effort to complete tasks and follow through. Reinforcing the statement that actions do speak louder than words, the human condition relies upon the success of relationships, all of which are built upon trust through competency in backing up the words that you speak. Relationships are one of the most imperative sources in our lives for an array of reasons. They help to increase our emotional wellbeing, create stability, teach us how to be good friends, whilst providing us with someone to count on and trust throughout the thick and thin of our lifetimes. Diplomacy and politics have taken over, with most countries being run by a government head of state. These politicians promise safety and health. They promise to do what is best for their country and those who serve it. However, more often than not, these promises go unkempt. For example, politics promise to reduce taxes in order to gain votes, but when they are elected, they disregard their statement and rise the taxes in order to gain more money for their benefit. This is the reason that society hold such wealth over hard work, because a person completing their ‘mission’ and giving others what they promised is more effect and ‘speaks louder’ than a person simply stating that they will change the world. During the 2016 United States of America election, victor Donald Trump promised to build a safe zone for Syrian Refugees. He stated, “Take a big piece of land in Syria and they have plenty of land, believe me. Build a safe zone for all these people, because I have a heart, I mean these people, it is horrible to watch, but they shouldn’t come over here. We should build a safe zone.” He promised the lives of many men, women and children, safety from a war that has caused over 500,000 deaths due to conflict. These people had watched their family members die from bombs, gunshot wounds and famine and Trump promised them, what in their eyes, would have been the world. Nevertheless, as of
