They promise to do what is best for their country and those who serve it. However, more often than not, these promises go unkempt. For example, politics promise to reduce taxes in order to gain votes, but when they are elected, they disregard their statement and rise the taxes in order to gain more money for their benefit. This is the reason that society hold such wealth over hard work, because a person completing their ‘mission’ and giving others what they promised is more effect and ‘speaks louder’ than a person simply stating that they will change the world. During the 2016 United States of America election, victor Donald Trump promised to build a safe zone for Syrian Refugees. He stated, “Take a big piece of land in Syria and they have plenty of land, believe me. Build a safe zone for all these people, because I have a heart, I mean these people, it is horrible to watch, but they shouldn’t come over here. We should build a safe zone.” He promised the lives of many men, women and children, safety from a war that has caused over 500,000 deaths due to conflict.
