Personal Statement
Kindergarten, such a simple time in our lives, we nap, we play dress up, and we run around laughing on the playground. Kindergarten at my school meant it was the first taste you will get in furthering your knowledge not only on subjects like reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also in religion. To ensure that our knowledge on religion was expanding, the school gave the little one's older buddies. I had two buddies, one that I was afraid of and Ellen, who I looked up to and learned a lot from. She was a sweet, caring leader, who put others first, and overall was an inspiration. Although she is much older than I am we had a close relationship, she was the first person I truly looked up to that was not related

As kids growing up you were asked the same question over and over, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Kids reply princess, astronaut, dancer, teacher, etc. and occasionally you have that one who just says they want to do nothing, but play video games. Nevertheless, the answer is simply I do not know or I have not thought about it. Personally, growing up I wished to become a doctor, not just any doctor, a pediatrician.…

Upon entering my 1st grade classroom, students are welcomed into a multicultural, yet simple world. There are a few maps on the wall and a globe in a corner, and some family photos on my desk. She was the first thing I thought about when I woke up and the last thing I thought of when I went to bed. When something good or bad happened in my life I always wanted to share it with her. I always had boyfriends but when I started this job and spent so much time with her I gave up on everything else.…

She was unique in her own way. I will forever be thankful for the loyalty and kindness she displays towards me. One time, on my 14th birthday, I had gotten injured at the beach and was not able move my right arm without a bolt of pain immobilizing it. Even though I had told her to go enjoy the rest of the party, she had stayed right by my side while everyone else…

Personal Philosophy I believe that all children are unique and bring their own knowledge and experiences to any educational environment. I believe the early childhood environment is a place for children to be free agents to; develop, learn, grow and express themselves, while having the confidence and respect they as a person are entitled to. Furthermore I also belie that all children have the right to learn and their learning be abundant with experiences, knowledge and quality, as well as feeling a sense of belonging to their community and learning environment. These beliefs are important to my teaching and my philosophy of early childhood eduction.…

It was there. Its presence marked my final destination. My fear suddenly started to creep over me just thinking about it like a ghost that every child was afraid of, when they turned off the lights. I began to ask my friends if it was true, and they said “Yes” and that it was due tomorrow! All of a sudden a chill ran down through me and my hands started to sweat of nervousness as I started to write down the homework.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…
