Kindergarten Observation

I believe I was able to learn a lot about the needs of a kindergarten students, by completing this observation. I realized that in a kindergarten classroom the main priorities are to make sure that everyone is involved and following the rules of school. Following directions was a huge part of the instruction in this grade level since this is when they learn how they have to act in a school. I never fully realized how difficult kindergarten could be to teach since there is not that much content that has to be covered it is more about creating the bases of how to behave in school from here on out. Also, I noticed that teachers that normally teach kindergarten have more experience and normally taught a high level before since this is such an important grade for development. I think Mrs.Thrush made the job of being a kindergarten teacher look easy and flawless, but I know that is only because of all of the practice, just like I had to do for all of my lessons in this class.
The rules and expectation of the students where made very clear and constantly reviewed. Mrs.Thrush had a system for making the students

By only observing you just see how great the teacher is or is not you do not get to really do it for yourself. So, I believe the one think I will have to work on before I will be able to be a teacher like Mrs.Thrush is practice how to manage a classroom. I will take so many of the ideas I have seen in my different observations and hopefully I will be able to be just as flawless and make it look as they do. I believe every other aspect of being a classroom teacher I have had a good amount of practice on so far, but like everything in life there is always room for improvement. Someday I hope to be as good as Mrs.Thrush and other amazing teachers I have

High prices and the smell of grease are the main characteristics of this place. The long faced workers dressed in red shirts with the logo on the front and long black pants, scraped greasy pans and washed dirty dishes. The identically dressed workers also answered phones, made pizzas and helped others at the front desk. The countless number of hungry customers poured in and out of the building. I saw red all over, red floors, red pizza boxes, red uniforms, red pizza sauce and red counters.…

I learned to make my room mine, and to be creative even if that means that my room stands out from the others. I learned to be creative when books and lectures don’t get the point across. I just loved her use of music and dance to teach math, which will be something I use in my own classroom. I think the most important thing that I learned to do would be to bring love in, no matter how hard a day may be for me, it may be two times as hard for the children as well. Showing those kids love in the classroom may be the only time they get it, everyone deserves a safe place.…

Observation: Rise Program Physical Setting Rise is a beautiful facility. All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

If CCMS received one million dollars this is what I would improve the cafeteria, update the 7th and 8th grade wing, and sports. I would improve the cafeteria that way it could hold more people that way we don't have to have 1st and 2nd lunches. I would also improve the 7th and 8th grade wing because it's not really the best. First, I would improve the cafeteria. We need a bigger place to eat because everyone is all bunched up and it's way to crowded plus I think this might help other people that are claustrophobic.…

I spend a portion of my day in the kindergarten class and I have learned many things about how kinders function as a result. The most important being that kinders need to understand what you expect of them so that they behave accordingly. They are not too young to understand what being quiet means or what it means to sit still for a few minutes. They simply need to be expected to do so.…
