The purpose of this memo is to explain how to clean a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry ll 1911 Pistol. Firearm maintenance is not practiced enough and over time this causes corrosion on an individual’s firearm. Each time you use your firearm, little elements are left on the barrel. This can eventually change the precision of the weapon and cause it to be less dependable.

Summary
In general, the goal of this memo is to safely and efficiently educate readers to maintain their Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry ll 1911 Pistols. This Kimber pistol is perfect for defense, concealed carry or home defense. Kimber Manufacturing has been around since 1979. Their company design, develop and distribute firearms. They are known for their high precision and quality.

Discussion
When cleaning your Kimber, always treat the weapon as if it were ready to fire. A majority of unintentional shootings are during the cleaning process. Keep your finger off of the trigger and point the weapon in a safe direction. Pull back the slide and check to see

Take the barrel with the barrel link facing up and laying forward to clear the recoil spring tunnel. Gently push the barrel forward into the muzzle end of the slide. Put in the captured recoil spring assembly from the breech end of the slide. Lift the slide assembly with your hand securing the guide rod and recoil spring assembly with your thumb, turn it right side up and slide the assembly on the frame rails. Bring slide and barrel back to the position where the barrel link is aligned with the slide stop hole in the frame. While holding the slide in that position, view through the slide stop pin hole to assure the link barrel in lined up and gently insert the slide stop pin. Secure the slide reward with one hand remove the tool from the guide rod hole with your free hand, then ease the slide forward into the battery. Run the slide a few times to
