Killing Lincoln by Bill O’Reilly & Martin Dugard unravel the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Many Americans know that Lincoln was shot and killed by, John Wilkes Booth a famous and well respected actor with some very pro-southerner views however, any do not understand why Booth and his accomplices would want to commit such a horrendous crime.

It also allowed me to be more understanding of a culture who believed their way of life was in danger, thus diluting the way they did. In my opinion the book Killing Lincoln had a very good tone and was not just a bunch of listed facts that had been regurgitated. Honestly, I am not one to read non-fiction books but O'reilly and Dugard did a phenomenal job. I really liked that they used various viewpoints and relevant background information to support their claims.

The book Killing Lincoln is addressed mostly to the general public, and it covers Presidents Lincoln's final six weeks on earth leading up until his assassination. This includes everything from his meetings, interactions with his family, staff, and other government officials. Killing Lincoln also includes recounts from witnesses and bystanders who were unaware that the assassination plot Booth and his co-conspirators were preparing. Or so many of the events that gradually led to Lincoln's murder, but what shocked me the most was that it could have been avoid. There were a ton of careless mistakes made from bodyguards, policemen and from President Lincoln himself. Give examples( of how they were
