Does the killing of a fellow human really constitute survival? If you have to kill someone else, are you really living? You are not. Existing is purely being on this planet while living is being happy, healthy and having a purpose and motivation in life. Humans will fight to the death to survive. In many pieces of literature, survival is an underlying theme. Especially in The Hunger Games, humans will stop at nothing to win and live, even if it makes them a killer. But does killing really mean you survived if you have to suffer the trauma forever?
Sadly, many people are traumatized and have to suffer with that forever. However, many did not have to kill to be traumatized. In The Hunger Games series, Katniss has to kill multiple people to elicit her own survival. She has to suffer the repercussions for the rest of her life as can been seen …show more content…
What those people don’t understand is that those people are extremely rare, and should not be a part of our society. If a mass murderer kills one hundred people and has no regret, they should not exist. In Mockingjay Katniss discusses why she feels so alone in the world, even though she is surrounded by people. “I no longer feel any allegiance to these monsters called human beings, despite being one myself. I think that Peeta was onto something about us destroying one another and letting some decent species take over. Because something is significantly wrong with a creature that sacrifices its children’s lives to settle its differences.” Panem practically sacrifices it’s children every year for the Hunger Games. Katniss no longer can handle the loss of that much innocent life so she says why don’t we all just die and and let the monkeys take over. This is such an eye-opening way to think, and that is why more people should be exposed to as many opinions as possible so they can learn more about the world around
