The book “To Kill a Mockingbird” was written by Harper Lee. The book is narrated by a girl by the name of Jean Louise “Scout” Finch. The book takes place during the1930’s in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama. Scout talks about her childhood with her friends like Jem, and dill, and how she began to see the evil side of the human nature, with things like the way Scout is treated in school, the end result of a black man’s trial, Bob Ewell’s need for revenge, as well as many other events that make Scout and her friends struggle to keep their faith in humanity. Atticus demonstrates Courage in “To Kill a Mockingbird”.

Atticus demonstrates courage by standing up for what 's up. One Example of Atticus showing courage is “You know what we want’ another man said. ‘Get aside from the door, Mr. Finch’ ‘You can turn around and go home again, Walter’ Atticus said pleasantly” (Page 202 Chapter 15). Rather than letting the men who want to get to Tom Robinson, most likely to hurt him physically in some way, Atticus stands in front of the door, puts himself at risk, and doesn’t let the group of men through the doors in order to protect Mr. Robinson. Another piece of evidence is “‘In the name of God, believe him’ I think that’s what he said.’”(Page 275 Chapter 20) This shows how Atticus is courageous because of how he is going up against practically the entire town of Maycomb because of how they all had the mentality that all black people are wrong and immoral and he is asking them to…
