Halfway through the Tom Robinson trial the court takes a break and what Dill had seen and heard hit him and he got emotional as he was talking to Jem and Scout. “That old Mr. Glimer doin’ him thataway, talking so hateful to him-” (168). Out of the people in the town the kids are the only one who seem to understand you shouldn’t judge people based on the color of your skin. They are trying to show the people in their community that they need to change the way they look at the community and the people in it. Dill is being a good role model for Jem and Scout as well, with him feeling like this and explaining how he feels they to also see that it is not right.
