Kiki-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
The first time I met KIKI, it was magical. It was a beautiful, sunny day. I loved her at first sight.I got her from St. Hubert's Animal Shelter. I went with my Dad and sister, Erin. Her old name was Gloria. She’s white with brown spots. My dog is incredible. She can play soccer. She kicks the ball with all four feet. It is awesome.

On the day we got her, she had an accident on the shelter couch I was sitting on. It got me all wet! I screamed, “Ew!” The people who work at the shelter had to come clean it up. Even though I was upset, I was still excited to take KiKi home. The guy at St. Hubert's got me a towel.
When we got home I said “Mom, Kiki’s home!”
I was so happy. Kiki is the best thing that ever happened to me. I say she is a keeper.

One of the ways we helped was by donating our time and effort by volunteering at the malls Salvation Army Angel Tree program. We would alter public space in the center of the mall by setting up tables next to a huge Christmas tree. The table would have these angel name hangers with children’s names on them. When people came up to the our tables we would ask them if they wanted to choose a child or if they wanted us to.…

Pepper not only offered a distraction and playmate for the children, but I found she also filled a void for me. Her entrance was perfectly timed and I felt that heaven had sent her.…

Did that really just happen? “Come join us at soccer tryouts next Friday at the main field after school!” read the big, white flyer which I had picked up previously in the week after hearing about this eye-opening news during morning announcements. As a 5th grader, my first instinct was to alert my mom right away, which is exactly what I did as soon as I got in the passenger seat of the all black sedan.…
