Children Websites: While exploring all three websites, I found the website Shakespeare for Kids on the Great website for Kids website. It struck me at first because while I was doing my field experience, the school librarian had a lesson on Shakespeare with one of the English classes. When the school librarian set up the lesson, the children had to find the answers to certain questions in the reference books she provided. The age level of this resource would be perfect for elementary and middle school students. The Shakespeare for Kids website provides the students …show more content…
The students can explore the human body by zooming in and out of the various layers of the human anatomy. The website also includes description of health conditions that related to each system of the body. The target audience for the Bio Digital Human is students in grades 7-12. This resource would be excellent in high school biology or a health class where students can actually see the different parts of the human body instead of just looking at a skeleton in the corner of the room. For technical help, they have a basic FAQ for how to access the 3-D human body, how to reset their password, etc. One special feature is that Bio Digital Human is offered as an app for iPhone and android. There are many ways to navigate the Bio Digital Human. One, the user can click on the anatomy explorer, which is located on the left, and click on body systems on or off. The second way is to click on the stethoscope mode where the user can discover visualizations for condition and treatments. Finally, there is the community icon where the user can browse the models that people on the Bio Digital website have saved and

A very helpful resource my preceptor utilizes is the ASCCP.org website. ASCCP stands for American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. This website provides guidelines and algorithms to help establish an appropriate treatment plan for patients with abnormal pap smears. These recommendations were developed and approved by a steering committee made of national professional organizations, government agencies, and advocacy organizations. They used literature reviews, evidence based practices, and risk-based assessments to develop the guidelines (American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology [ASCCP], 2013).…

Research has shown that a “lack of consistent evaluation and oversight, and ease of publication, have led to inaccurate health-related publications on this new mass medium, causing concern for health education professionals” (Dorman & Pealer, 1997, p. 232). With the superfluous amount of websites on ADHD, it is vital to review the websites before using the information they contain. The Child Mind Institute’s website, www.childmind.org, contains information on childhood mental illnesses and disorders. Within each disorder, including ADHD, a detailed definition of the disorder, diagnosis information, treatment options, and help for families is provided. A quality review of www.childmind.org is accomplished through the verification of authority,…

Some sites, WebMD, for example, are laid out similar to news websites, with headlines and eye-catching images. They are busy, yet not overwhelming, making them user-friendly and simple to follow. The Mayo Clinic’s website is similar to WebMD in that it is organized, although it has a different “feel”.…

When Shakespeare was at the young age of 4, he was enrolled at the King’s New School in Stratford in which the education was rigorous, “William Shakespeare was born in April 1564” (Brown 5). As he grew up, he was taught grammar and the Book of Common Prayer, and by the age of seven was instructed on latin. Shakespeare had a wide range of education, due to his father’s high position in Stratford-Upon- Avon. This is more than double of the amount of time spent in the modern schools today.…
