Kids Should Not Grade Teachers

Decent Essays
I think kids should not grade their teachers because they might grade them but they can lie for their grade, and they might change their mind what they are actually gonna say.

What if you are grading a teacher and you lie about the teacher’s grade .I would never ever lie about the grade,if you where would you lie .If i would lie I would rather give that teacher a C+.If someone else was grading they would put an F.

If I would ever change my mind I would rather say an D+.I mean I would never change my mind because i’m already grading that teacher.Would you change your mind for that grade.I would but I don’t really actually know if I would.

My view to not grade your teacher is that

There are a lot of on-going debates about the traditional grading system. Many argue that the system deters learning therefore; it should be overhauled and/or reformed. Alfie Kohn, an American author and educator that speaks and writes about education and parenting is very much opposed to the traditional grading system. In his essay “From Degrading to De-Grading”, Alfie Kohn argues against it, he claim that students are so grade driven that it reduces their interest in learning, creativity and preference for challenging tasks. Not only that, it also encourages cheating, disrupt curriculum and waste teachers’ time.…

If I get an “B-” instead of that elusive “A+,” I will be fine. I’m not who I used to be and now understanding slowly is more important to me. My grades will reflect what I actually learn. Striving for perfection, as I was taught as a child, is no longer normal. I wish I could go back in time and tell my teenage self, that mistakes will be made and your life will be hard…

Who really is hurting in that aspect? The teacher or the student? The question for this both Kant and Mill focus on is: is there absolute moral rule? Kant and Mill provide different perspectives on this question. Kant is a believer in absolute moral rule, whereas Mill is not a believer in it as he believes there are exceptions to moral rule if it maximizes happiness. I agree with Mill, I do not think there is not absolute moral rules and to determine if something is right dependent on the consequences. When coming up with this view, I based it on my own profession of teaching.…

“If you fuel the journey on the opinions of others, you are going to run out of gas” is a quote made famous by Steve Maraboli that I do not agree with wholeheartedly. If you think about it, we run on the opinions of others. Our grades in school are based on the teacher’s opinion on how well we did, what we wear is based on what others opinions are of us, and in sports who is picked above who is based on the coach's opinion of how well they play. Most of the things we do are based on people's opinions and we should take them into account because some opinions are can help us greatly and give us more gas for our journey. If you think about it a teacher's grading and critiquing helps us get better so we will do better on more important tests…

Peer grading is a system utilized across the nation in various classes. Students are regarded as reliable, trustworthy and credible sources to judge the effort of their classmate. However the opinion of a student does not carry behind it the knowledge or experience of a teacher. Students can also be the harshest of critics, where the line between constructive criticism and bullying is blurred.…

Everyone has lied at least a few times in their life. Most people lie when they are pressurized or afraid of the consequences of telling the truth. Lying is acceptable if it is to make life easier or to protect others, but some people say lying is unacceptable in any situation. First, lying can be used to protect others. For example, if Anne Frank was hiding in the attic because soldiers would be taking her away, telling the truth will put her life at risk.…

He asserts, “Let me make it clear that I recommend giving those F’s – by the dozens, hundreds, thousands, even millions – only to students who haven’t learned the required material” (192). However giving more F’s to the students does not prove that they deserve the grade. An F should be given to the students that deserves it, such as students that do not do their homework, do not show up to class, or cheat on test/homework. If a student does things that show that they deserve the F, then it should be given. In a recent discussion with parent LaToya Jackson, a mother of two, she discussed that although the educational system has a few flaws, she feel that giving more F’s to students would not solve the problems throughout the educational system.…

At some schools, the grading method is students are given a long-term assignment and must produce a project and oral presentation to show what they learned. I disagree with this method because some kids may be shy/have anxiety, it's easier for teachers to help students if they can see where they messed up, and it's easier to test all the students on one lesson instead of all lessons at one time. All schools should stick to the traditional way for grading students. The traditional way is more simple and less time consuming for teachers and students. What is your biggest fear?…

One day a little schoolboy forgot to do his homework and was scared to tell his teacher the truth. The teacher was taking up the homework and asked the child, “Where is your homework?” Instead of telling his teacher that he did not have the homework completed and accepting responsibility for his actions, the child replied, “My dog ate my homework.” This specific lie is something that has been used as an excuse from school children for years on end to avoid the consequences that come with forgetting to do their homework. Lies have become a dominant part of everyday life in today’s American society, good and bad.…
