Kids Should Have No Homework Research

Decent Essays
Are you annoyed of all the missing assignments because you have to go and do something. My opinion is that their should be no homework because it brings stress to the kids.
If you have no homework you will have less stress because, some kids get very stressed if they do not know how to do the homework. Homework also increased anxiety, depression, and anger. Some kids also don't get enough sleep when they have homework. If kids are given homework they don't focus on feeding your dog, eating dinner. The man reason is that we are at school for 6-7 hours almost everyday, then you go home and do homework which is basically a hour more of school.
Scientist say that kids tend to get very stressed about homework. People that have children also

First of all, homework causes stress on students. We may as well just spend all day at school if we are having school at home anyways. Students should go to school, work on “school” work, then come home and not do “school” work at home. This would increase the productivity and attitudes of students. I, for one, would be in a much better mood concerning school if I knew that I didn’t have to look forward to coming home to more school work.…

If kids didn’t have to worry about getting certain assignments done for the next day, I do agree with Darter that, kids would have more time to be kids. In her article Darter refers to a study done at Duke University. The study showed that “all it does is negatively impact kids’ attitudes towards school, learning, and their parents(the homework enforcers).” This research shows, not proves, that homework does have an effect on studies ability to do well in…

In recent years, parents have began to wonder whether or not homework was beneficial to their children or not. After spending their entire day in school, children are usually given extra assignments to complete at home when they could be spending that crucial time with family. There are said to be both positive and negative aspects of this topic. The article I chose to analyze was “Rethinking Homework” by Alfie Kohn. This article talks about the so called pros and cons of homework.…

Most people would agree that more homework would be a less than desirable, but if we started schools later students would pay more attention and if students payed more attention in class then maybe less homework would be assigned because they would have already covered it in class. Often times when students complain about homework teachers state that if they had paid more attention during class that we would have less homework and maybe they are right. Teachers can not exactly give us all the material in their allotted time if the students are being distracting and loud; Therefore they have to make up for the time with…

A 2013 study showed that “one in four parents say their child is stressed because of homework” (School). With one in four students stressed, there are also one in four households stressed because of the increasing workload being sent home from schools. Homework is meant to help a child become more in depth into the ideas being taught in class. Not to lengthen the list of must do’s that is already waiting for them at home or cause them to miss out on their childhood. Their childhood should be spent with friends and family, but many students report that they will spend less time with others in order to get homework done.…

Time that can be better spent is with family and having fun participating in extracurricular activities. Eliminating homework allows students the reward of free time and the invaluable time spent with family. Homework creates unnecessary stress and strain for parents and students alike. Also, homework allows teachers to pawn off their own teaching responsibilities to students and parents with hours of homework. Homework is not beneficial and it should be banned for students Kindergarten thru 8th…

There are so many reasons people are pro homework. People say “it helps them become smarter or helps them on test,” But there is a lack of evidence where it actually supports their claims, that it helps students at all especially at such a young age. with Alfie Khon “The positive effects of homework are largely mythical.”(Khon). It also seems that homework is being forced onto younger students more often than the older ones. I remember getting tons of homework in Elementary school, and not having the time to play outside, the stress, and my parents struggling to help me on problems I didn’t know.…

For both the parent and child, often each individual has spent much of their day working their brains and being required to be engaged for up to eight hours a day. For many children, they also participate in after school activities including daycare, clubs or sports, adding extra hours to their already busy day. As a result, adding homework to the child’s daily schedule after such a busy day can lead to a stressful event. As such, parents who have had a long day at work and are then required to participate in their child’s homework may not always react positively and may even become annoyed with such an activity. As a result, negative energy is surrounded by the event of homework, which makes it less desired for the child and eventually avoidable.…

With all of the stress that is already coming from school, homework only emphasizes that. There should be less homework because it takes up students time, causes a lot of stress, and causes many personal and social problems. A primary reason that students have less free time is that teachers assign an excessive amount of homework. Some students have said “Homework is all I have time for; there’s never…

There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…

It is largely due to the fact that homework has still been stressed upon as it is an important activity but how it is managed is what counts because students need time on their own to complete their daily life activities which help them reduce their level of stress and satisfy their need for socialising. Elementary school kids need to develop the habit of doing homework as it will be easier for them to cope up with the heavy assignment and projects workloads in the future when they enter the university. With more and more stress being laid on assignments and homework in higher studies due to the lower study hours at the institutes it is important that students learn from their earlier academic phases that homework is an important part of the final course grade and should be given importance it. However, homework creates stress, therefore it is advised to the parents that they must ensure that their kids have sufficient time on their hands to complete the tasks that are on the minds of the children so after they are done with their tasks, they can sit down and actually concentrate on the matter at hand. So, it is safe to say that homework is an important but at the same time it is also important to keep in mind that students are also humans who must be given time to reduce their stress level and given playtime to overcome issues such as obesity or lack of social interaction.…
