Kids Should Be Able To Play Competitive Sports

Kids should be able to play competitive sports. Over 45 million teens and kids are actively playing sports in the U.S. as of 2014. A lucky 2% of athletes even get scholarships that pay all or part of their college tuition (P# 11 “Are Sports ruining your life?”). Competitive sports must be offered to kids. Competitive sports help kids get to college and helps kids learn life skills.
Recognition of ability in a competitive sport helps kids get into college. Recognition in a sport helps thousands of kids get into colleges that are out of their reach (P# 11 “Are Sports Ruining your Life”). Also, competitive sports players tend to get spots on the high school sports teams and catch the eyes of college recruiters (P#3 “Travel Team Heartbreak”).
